Local ministry background:
Stanislav Ondrej Motyka had been in contact with Christians since early childhood. He was particularly drawn to Christian summer camps. Over time, he went from being an enthusiastic regular participant to an assistant leader of a Royal Rangers patrol.
He writes about his time with the Royal Rangers: “My journey with the Royal Rangers wasn’t just a challenge to plan great, action-packed programs for children, but also an opportunity to get to know Jesus. Thanks to the long-term ministry of the leaders who served before me, the many miracles, answered prayers, and the wonderful fellowship, I was able to accept Jesus and confess that He is the Savior who died for my sins.”

Stanislav joined the staff of the non-profit organization called the Spider’s Web in 2026. He is gradually getting up to speed and actively taking on some of the HY ministry topics. In particular, he offers the ‘Ethical Compass’ program series, which is geared toward elementary school pupils in grades 1–5. He participates as both a facilitator and assistant in the implementation of the Oasis experiential programs and is part of the team that prepares and conducts school adaptational retreats for sixth-graders. Together with his fellow colleagues, he cooperates on expanding outreach activities in north Moravian region.
All of this is driven by a desire for children and young people to hear the Gospel and come to know God’s love.

He has long been involved in the free-time and club activities of the Spider’s Web organization, serving as a camp leader and also as a leader of a patrol in the Royal Rangers teen club.

More about programs

How he became a HY Worker:
Stanislav gained his first experience working with children as an assistant leader at the Royal Rangers leisure-time club: “That’s where I first started ministry among children under the age of 12, and I really enjoyed it. Over time, I realized that I enjoyed it more and more and found it increasingly fulfilling. So, after nine years of studying IT in high school and college, I decided that IT wasn’t the right path for me and that I wanted to devote myself fully to working with children.”

He also began to actively participate in the leisure clubs under the auspices of the Spider’s Web non-profit organization. And when he realized there might be an opportunity to get more involved with this organization, to build relationships with children and young people, to be a source of support and a confidant for them in their difficult life situations, organize fun programs for them, and, on top of that, point them to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and pass on biblical values, he had no doubt that this was exactly what he would love to do with all his heart.

Through his Healthy Youth ministry, he aims to show today’s young generation an alternative to the consumerist and superficial values of contemporary society. Through the topics of the HY programs he, as well as his colleagues, wants to show children what problematic behaviors can arise in everyday life. The goal is to help children pause and reflect on these behaviors on their own, choose the best course of action, or ask for help when needed.
